#355, Buy a fashion ring
You’re going to have to take my word for it here. No matter how many photos I’ve tried to take of the ring and my hand, either my hand looks like something that emerged from a crypt or the ring looks dull and lifeless. While my hand does indeed look like it spent a few days digging in soil, the ring is actually pretty spectacular.
My actual engagement ring setting is from the early 1900s, is made from platinum and has delicate filagree on the band. After 24 years however, the ring needs repairing and it may be gone for quite some weeks. In the mean time, I decided to buy a decent fake as a stand-in.
I kind of love it. It matches my watch well and looks a good deal like this Tacori ring which has been sitting on my Pinterest wish list for a few years with the caption “I would die”.
Except, instead of $10,000, it cost $49.
For the time being, it is pretty and sparkly and most people won’t know the difference.
Unless, of course, my finger turns green.
Until then, I plan to wear it with pride and if anyone has the audacity to ask if it’s real, I’ll have the audacity to say that it is.
226 days to go!
